How the best multimedia college in India celebrated its 25th Anniversary on a cool, rainy Thursday.
Entertaining and educative sessions perked up the day as celebrations peaked with valuable career advice to visual effects, gaming, and animation career aspirants from the HR of creative VFX studio.
It wasn’t the usual Thursday morning. The city woke up to a heavy downpour. For some reason, the rain Gods seemed furious. The rain was getting heavier and there seemed to be no let-u
It was around 8.00 a.m. Creative Multimedia’s 25th Anniversary Celebrations were to begin in an hour or two, but the venue was more or less empty with just a handful of staff moving around anxiously.
For over two months, preparations were on to celebrate this momentous milestone, but the monsoon fury seemed all set to render this landmark event a complete washout.
Prayers said, the team resumed preparations, leaving the rest to divine intervention. And lo! While the rains continued unabated, and just as the team resigned to its fate, guests started trickling in. Moments later, the venue was packed to capacity as the guests of honour started arriving, one by one.
Even the torrential downpour couldn’t dampen Creative Multimedia’s winning spirit as all the invitees including students, parents, alumni, well-wishers, and media braved the rain to attend the event.
The celebrations commenced with an address by Mr. Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary of Industries, Commerce, & IT, Telangana Government. A string of educative sessions by veterans from the fields of animation, gaming, and VFX followed.
The last speaker of the day was Ms. Ramya Kalyanaraman – HR, Phantom FX, Hyderabad. She was invited as a Special Guest to the 25th Anniversary Celebrations of Creative Multimedia – the top VFX institute in India.
Congratulating the team on completing 25 years of excellence in Multimedia education, Ms. Ramya presented a bouquet to Mr. Raja Sekhar Buggaveeti, the Founder – CEO of Creative Multimedia Group.
Speaking about the VFX industry and staying prepared for opportunities, she advised students to create a good portfolio as recruiters lend great importance to the candidate’s artistic and technical skills.
“I’m sure all of you have chosen the best VFX course and the best VFX college in Hyderabad. Here’s wishing you all the best”, she ended. Mr. Rajasekhar presented a token of appreciation to Ms. Ramya and thanked her for the beautiful bouquet.
The celebrations culminated in the awards ceremony for students and staff. Mr. Raja Sekhar thanked all the guests for making it to the event. And quietly, the entire team must have been thanking the Gods too, as it was still raining heavily when the event ended at about 6 pm.
Being a seasoned institution that has waded past 25 monsoons, it did seem that the rain Gods favoured the legend with a manageable downpour, as any heavier, and the event would have been a complete washout. This was the same time when flash floods wreaked havoc in different parts of the country.
